Best thing to do in Western Australia This was the coolest thing we did in Western Australia. Ryan is one awesome dude. Seeing the animals was a very special experience for family.

A Journey into WA’s Bushland with Mic and Ryan We would like to show our appreciation to Mic and Ryan for taking us on a beautiful journey into the bushland and sharing their wealth of knowledge about this gorgeous piece of land. We were blessed to meet the adorable animals that came by to greet us that night. Ending the night under the star studded stars was just the cherry on top of the cake. Mic and Rick’s patience in listening to our child’s queries and teaching us about the flora and fauna of this land really enriched our understanding of WA’s naturescape.

We hope to be back again in another season. Stay well and till we meet again!

Wine and Sights Discovery Tour Ryan provided an excellent half day tour, cannot recommend these people enough.

Exceptional and so knowledgeable Thi was a truly exceptional tour. Ryan is a very knowledgeable horticulturist and a true eco-tourism expert. He goes to great lengths to explain the local flora and fauna and to show visitors the local nature attractions. He also does a great morning tea. An excellent experience!

Best night of the kids lives This tour was the highlight of our trip down south. My three children engaged with the tour guides and information. And the guides were fantastic with dealing with not only two neurodiverse kids, but with a toddler as well.
I cannot recommend this tour for families highly enough!

Excellent tour Fabulous tour with Mick and Ryan, very personal as we were the only participants. Some excellent bird watching and short bush walks, last stop was a local golf course to be up close to kangaroos with tasting plate of local produce, coffee and biscuits baked by Mick’s wife. All excellent. Both Mick and Ryan grew up in the area and have expert and extensive knowledge of the local flora and fauna.

Tour guides, Ryan and Mick, completely exceeded our expectations on the nocturnal night tour. Their knowledge, enthusiasm and connection to the animals made our experience incredible and I can honestly say that this is the best tour we’ve ever been on. Will definitely be back. Great Tour Company Proud of Western Australia South West Eco Discoveries is one of the finest companies I have ever employed. I knew I was going to enjoy my tour when I booked it because it seemed like a well thought out tour and the booking process was excellent and a little personal. Then, during my trip I broke my hip! I could get into a car and stand and walk a few steps using a frame walker but that was about all. I thought that would be the end of my sight seeing. We were in Australia from Canada early enough in the Spring that it happened that their tours were not fully subscribed so my Sweetie went on the morning tour with a few other people and did one tour. Then South West Eco Discoveries sent a smaller vehicle to pick up me and my Sweetie in the afternoon and the driver/guide took us to places that I could either see just from the car or just required getting out and walking to an observation post.

They did this because they are so proud of their part of Australia and wanted to make sure that I saw enough to be impressed by this beautiful, historic part of the world. You bet I'm impressed! Thank you so much.

Personal and professional experience! Fantastic tour with Ryan and Mick! Learned so much about the ecosystem of Western Australia. The views were spectacular everywhere we went. Since the brothers grew up in the area and shared their personal stories the entire experience was very special. The whole excursion was planned very well and ended with some wonderful refreshments.

We visited on Friday evening with children aged 3-11 and parents and grandparents. It was delightful! Ryan and Mick could not have been more warm, informative and accommodating to the different generations. We went on a bush walk and they found so many interesting nocturnal reptiles, plants and animals and kept the children (and adults) charmed. The kangaroos and possums were stars of the show but we adored the little bandicoot who came to visit too. Very special and highly recommended.

A spectacular nocturnal safari in a private sanctuary.
Ryan and Mick were entertaining and knowledgeable. The wildlife was fab. Up close and personal with 10 kangaroos - including a mother and baby - and possums so close we could strike them. Other creatures like the bandicoots and spiders became much more interesting when we heard about their lifestyles.

Strongly recommend. Easy walking - I did it in flip flops (thongs).

Great mix of sightseeing and wine tasting. Knowledgeable guides. We were glad we picked this tour. We thoroughly enjoyed the sightseeing, including seeing dolphins and kangaroos. Two wineries only, which was the perfect amount - any more would have been uncomfortable. We liked the contrast between the small family-run winery and the larger more commercial one. Friendly and knowledgeable guides.

Wonderful family nature experience Ryan and Mick were extremely knowledgeable, kind and welcoming. They provided a unique family experience which has created a wonderful family memory. Educational, fun and engaging, I highly recommend the nocturnal tour.

I highly recommend the Nocturnal experience. We got to feed and meet the kangaroos even patting them. It’s good to know that 25% of the price that we pay for adult tickets goes to maintaining the fence and caring for orphaned animals like the kangaroos. It was wonderful gazing at the stars and learning about the constellations. The tour guides for South West Eco Discoveries were friendly and calm. We will be coming back!

Swan View Senior High School Follow the Dream students were amazed at the wildlife and getting so close to feed some. Follow the Dream student review : Seeing the night sky and planets was a highlight. All the Australian creatures with all their little personalities. It was great to have home made biscuits and tea and feeding the wild animals with your bare hands. Learning about different types of spiders and Coonaks was also a highlight

Had an amazing tour! Can't recommend it enough. I had an amazing trip with Ryan and Mick. They were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They knew the local plants and animals as well as some of the age-old stories about the area. We stopped at about a half dozen spots to explore. I can't recommend these two brothers enough. It was truly a trip of a lifetime for me.

South West Eco Discoveries Nocturnal Wildlife Encounter What a great experience. I cannot recommend this highly enough. We saw kangaroos, possums and learnt lots of interesting bush information.

The Coastal and Wildlife Eco Tour was just the kind of tour we were looking for. Ryan and Mick were fun and knowledgeable and they took us to some of their favorite places, off the usual tourist route. The half day duration was perfect and we saw a variety of habitats and ecosystems and gorgeous views. We learned about the geology, plants and animals of the area, including kangaroos. We ended the tour with a delicious sample platter of locally grown and produced food. I highly recommend this tour!

Experienced the nocturnal animal tour. Saw many native animals up close and had good photo opportunities as well as feeding. Very informative about flora and fauna, included a night bush walk and star gazing towards the end.

Amazing Experience! Myself and my mother and brother had an amazing time on this tour. The two guides were lovely and very knowledgeable about the wildlife we saw as well as other environmental factors that are effecting both the conservation area and wider society. It was a once in a lifetime experience for us to get so close to wild animals in a responsible way. I would recommend for both families and adult groups alike!

Amazing Experience and Cute Animals! The guides were amazing. We were in a small group of four. Not only was information provided about the nocturnal wildlife but also the flora, solar system and local indigenous culture. The animals were friendly and the tour bus was the cleanest tour bus that I have ever been in. Amazing all round. Would highly recommend this activity if you are in the Margaret River Region.

Simply amazing Ryan and Mick are absolutely amazing and so knowledgeable about the plants they showed us and how they would be used by first nations peoples and also the history of the areas we visited. The drinks and refreshments they provided us at the end of tour was wonderful. So simple, yet so perfect in a beautiful location. We would highly recommend them. Would definitely do it again

A Wonderful Experience We were the only ones on this tour for this particular day, and were taken to some wonderful wineries, an olive farm full of fantastic produce and products, plus the chocolate factory. Had a fantastic afternoon with Mick and Ryan, who were very entertaining. Finished the day off with a walk down near the beach with some refreshments and a selection of local produce. Would definitely recommend their tours. Pickup and drop off from our motel was a bonus as well

Nocturnal Wildlife Tour - Fantastic Great evening adventure for young and old. Ryan and Mick were great guides. Very knowledgeable, personable and passionate about the area and the wildlife. They were also great with the kids. Would recommend this tour to anyone coming to the Dunsborough area

A tour of some of the best places in Western Australia, in my humble opinion An excellent tour, Mick and Ryan were excellent guides and very knowledgeable. Got in some whale watching at one of our stops, which was a bonus. The views were amazing. Marri Wood Park was well worth the visit. Julian, our host, was so passionate about the way he cultivates his vines in tune with nature, in a biodynamic way. Then a trip to Gabriel’s chocolate - delicious. Would highly recommend.

Informative and interactive with excellent friendly guides. Excellent experience for all the family. Mick and Ryan picked us up in the minibus and took us to the sanctuary. They showed us some interesting trees and plants, and we were able to try some fruit from the snotty gobble tree. We learned about the ways the Wadandi people used the trees and plants as medicine. The group got to feed kangaroos, which my sister-in-law from Scotland loved as it was her first time in Australia. My little niece is full of jibber jabber, and Mick and Ryan interacted with her really nicely. We saw possums, bandicoots, frogs, and spiders before doing some star gazing. The tour was really interesting and fun and great for all ages.

We had an amazing time with Mick and Ryan on the Coastal & Wildlife daytime tour. The guys took us to some great spots and walks enjoying all the native plants, flowers and animals including beautiful orchids, whales, kangaroos and more. They have an amazing level of knowledge which is shared in such a great way. My 8 year old son loved the tour and we all returned very happy. Highly recommended for everyone, even residents who know the area well will still get allot from this perspective. Cheers team ❤️

Night life Mick and Ryan are very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour was all we were expecting and covered flora, fauna and some beautiful clear skies. No Woylies this time but hope to see them next time we’re in the region !

1/2 Day Taste of Margaret River & Surrounds Ryan was a ball of local knowledge and showed us some great spots, tasted beautiful wines and chocolates, all I all a wonderful afternoon.

Experience of a lifetime It was so lovely to see all the animals up close and personal. Mick and Ryan were fantastic, they had so much knowledge to give and were very respectful to the animals and knew where to look for certain plants. The stars were amazing and they had so much knowledge about the constellations and how they were used to guide the sailors way back in the day. It was just my daughter and myself. So it was lovely to just have that personal experience. Thank you

AMAZING!!! Ryan and Mick were so amazing and knowledgeable about the history and knew so much about plants, my daughter and I were the only ones on the tour and they took the time to show us around and see all the different flora and fauna of the places we were at, we even saw bottle nosed dolphins and hump back whales while we were walking, which we stopped to look at as well as the other wildlife, they provided a snack at lunch time before they took us back, it was a lovely experience and I couldn't recommend them more, would definitely do it again

Amazing wildlife up close Amazing to get so up close to the Kangaroos, bandicoots and possums. Was great that Ryan and Mick took us out even though just the two of us and they were very knowledgeable about the plants and animals we saw.

Must have experience Mick and Ryan are providing a great opportunity to get up close to bush wildlife. We were picked up from our accommodation on time in their super comfortable bus for the short journey to the sanctuary. The guys are very friendly and have great knowledge of the area and it's wildlife. Billy tea in the shelter surrounded by the animals is a memory I will keep for a long time.
We got lots of photos and video - having a kangaroo eat from your hand is awesome.

Coastal and wildlife eco tour My husband and I took the coastal and wildlife eco tour with Ryan and Mick and we were very impressed with their punctuality, knowledge and friendliness. They were passionate about the area they grew up in and knew every nook and cranny. To top it off, we had a ‘picnic’ of local food and drink and Mick’s wife had baked some delicious biscuits. Would highly recommend.

Margaret wine and sights tour First of all, apologies to Ryan and Mick as I read their message incorrectly about the pick up time. But I really want to thank them as that didn’t affect their mood all throughout the tour and was very kind and patient with my family. (as they really take time finishing their wine and taking a lot of pictures, and my brother who is also takes a while walking due to surgery on his knee.) I would totally recommend Southwest Eco Discoveries Tour to my friends and family. We would like to try their other tours next time my family would visit again from the Philippines.

Introduction to Cape Naturaliste area Brilliant! This was an excellent half day tour around Dunsborough and the national park area including Cape Naturaliste. Ryan and Mike took us for a gentle walk slightly downhill through local woods showing us all sorts of trees and fauna. An easy walk . Then we saw a sea eagle and an owl amongst other birds and wildlife before a delightful walk on a very good path near Cape Naturaliste with great views and a totally different vegetation. They were really helpful and just wanted to show us their patch, and for us to get the most of our visit to their local area. Highly recommended.
