Indulge in the ultimate Barossa Valley experience with Gibson’s daily Barossa Shiraz by Barrel tour. Start your day off with this unique Barossa experience to immerse yourself in the world of small batch winemaking.
Join Adam, known as ‘The Duke’ and Gibson’s vintage winemaker, as he takes you on a journey through the winemaking process. You’ll taste Shiraz straight from the oak barrel it’s maturing in and discover the secrets behind Gibson’s unique method of layering flavor through different vineyard locations, ‘fractions’ and oak selection.
The tour includes a private barrel tasting and a seated cellar door experience, where you’ll be guided through Gibson’s current vintage releases, including their super premium bottlings.
NOTE: Barossa Shiraz by Barrel is not available during the annual harvest season, generally from March to April each year. However, during this time, you can still book a complimentary tasting at Gibson’s Light Pass cellar door and witness the action of vintage firsthand. Depending on the day, you may even get the chance to wander down to the winery and see the skilled winemakers as they press and hand plunge the grapes from the vineyard.

Her knowledge of the area and the wines was impressive, and it was clear she genuinely loves what she does. We ended up staying longer than planned because we were enjoying ourselves so much — great conversation, amazing wine, and just a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere.
The wines themselves were outstanding — beautifully crafted and full of character. You can tell there’s passion behind every bottle.
A visit to Gibsons is a must!. Top-tier hospitality, incredible wine, and the kind of experience that makes you want to come back again and again. Thank you, Kristy (and Gibsons Team) for making it so special!
Kerrie absolutely made our tasting. She was awesome, and we also had a lovely chat with Rob as well. Superb range of wines and fabulous hospitality. Do yourself a favour and add them to your Barossa tour.
Great character with The Old Smithy and fabulous wines.
Kerry was the perfect host and the wines are awesome. Go for the Premium tasting choice and sit outside in the sun and relax for an hour….
Added bonus: we could bring our dog along and enjoy our wine while our snowflake doggy could stay at his favorite patch of grass outside :-)
Great wines
Fabulous host

Thank you for a wonderful afternoon 👌
Definitely make sure you stop here on your Barossa journey.
Thanks for today Gibson!!
We all purchased wines to take home. A great place to visit on your Barossa winery tour.
An excellent atmosphere, knowledgable staff and excellent wine!
A fantastic way to spend an afternoon.
Cheers

Our host was amazing but I forget her name (started with L? From Yalumba originally)
There are sooooo many excellent wineries all over Australia (we've toured many of them!). There is no need to give your money to those who can't even be bothered to treat people with basic human decency. Go literally anywhere else.
Must do in the Barossa.
