7 wines in a row that we didn’t like, we were desperate. But suddenly, the Covenant Shiraz changed everything. Next: blocks road Cabernet Sauvignon. Two great wines that were worth the whole visit!

Yes, Frank was cold and gave us the feeling that we were not very welcome, however it’s probably more inherent to his character than really being bothered by us. He knew well his wines and could still answer any questions.

Highly anticipated visit. Arrived on a chilly quiet afternoon, it was not busy at all. The male staff was as cold as the wind outside. The wines were lovely, they really were, but the whole tasting experience felt us unwelcome.

My humans visited today and kept raving about the hospitality and knowledge of Carmen, the Assistant Cellar Door Manager, who took them through an amazing flight of the wines. Thank you for making them so happy Carmen and representing the K wines so well! This is a hidden gem situated in the secluded Skilly Valley. Glad we made the time to drop in. It was a quiet day and Carmen made us feel right at home with the wine tasting. The highlight had to be the Kilikanoon Estate Sparkling Vouvray NV.

Raining today, so we looked at reviews for a dog friendly winery, and Kilikanoon had fantastic reviews. We arrived to it being very busy (a good sign), but the staff, especially Nicole were fantastic. Our dog was well petted and even was asked if he could have a treat. The “Adventurer” package was great. Very good value for money and lots learnt. We each bought a bottle of wine and if you can stretch to the 2019 Tregea 1998 reserve superb!!!! A very enjoyable “wet” day. Thank you xx

We had a wonderful opportunity as a group of 8 to participate in the Revelation wine tasting experience last month on Tuesday 11th March 2025.
Off to a bumpy start as they weren’t expecting 8 of us despite my phone reservation, however all was handled with aplomb and professionalism & we all enjoyed a glass of champagne outside whilst things were sorted.
Our host for the event was Carmen & we couldn’t have asked for a more bubbly (pun intended) and attentive host despite her tending to us as well as other guests, and even when under the pump her ability to keep smiling and attention to everyone was exceptional.
No request was a bother and Carmen did true credit to Kilikanoon on the day.
We all left more the wiser in wines, more the merrier with all the tastings, and more the poorer in the hip pocket.
A big thank you for Kilikanoon in providing us with a truely memorable experience and to Carmen for ensuring it was one for the ages.

The venue is very pretty.

The staff are very friendly and quite knowledgeable regarding the wines and the region.

But the wines are the absolute highlight.
From very reasonably priced everyday quaffers through to absolute super premium (best Shiraz in the world *twice* no less!) you’re sure to find something for every palate and level of wine enthusiasm.

A must visit in Clare. A truly delightful winery well worth the visit. Delightful surrounds - Carmen was lovely - and delicious wines, the whites and rose were particularly special - we bought some of 4 different wines! We’ll definitely be drinking more of this in the future.

Lovely experience at Kilikanoon We had a wonderful time thanks to Carmen's excellent knowledge of each wine we sampled. She provided guidance to our selections that was on point. We sampled a lot of the 'experimental' range which showcases the winemakers unique take on a few favourites. Recommend to anyone interested in a varied tasting.

Cute place, and 'Handsome' Frank was welcoming and good fun. Wines were pleasant. Needed some snacks to enjoy with the great wine.

Super dog friendly winery! Dogs can be off leash. Wine selection is great across whites and reds. Carmen’s service was top notch. We had lots of laughs together. Carmen is very friendly and welcoming. She entertained us even though we came close to closing time on New Year’s Eve. Lovely place, highly recommend!

What a great experience we had today at the Kilikanoon Wine Cellar Door. Frank, our host, was fantastic. His knowledge of the selection of wines we tried was second to none! He was supper friend and kind. The wines we tried were spectacular!! Would highly recommend this lovely winery. We will 100% be going back.

So disappointed. We love Kilikanoon wines and were really looking forward to visiting their Cellar Door. Unfortunately our visit was tainted by Frank. There were 4 of us and all wanted to do a tasting. We were ushered away from the lovely cellar door and into a back room and told in a very blunt and unfriendly way the cost of the tasting and that only if we bought 2 bottles would we get our money back.
It was a beautiful day, first one in ages and we asked if we could possibly do our tasting just outside at one of the tables. Again we were told that they could only do tasting in this back room because they needed a controlled environment. What nonsense! There was only 2 other people in CD so it wasn’t because they were busy. We asked for a few minutes to decide whether we wanted to sit inside or just have a glass outside. Frank wasn’t overly keen on us sitting outside. We opted for neither and left, very disappointed. Lovely Cellar Door, good wines, staff ..need a crash course in being pleasant.
Penna Lane next door is awesome.

Came towards the end of day. It Carmen was so kind to look after us at the cellar door!!

We had a great time tasting and understanding the wines of Kilikanoon as well as the terrior of Clare Valley!

And she was so kind to guide and introduce to us online purchase of Australian wines for shipment to Singapore.

Overall a great experience and like the cosy and warm cellar door! And of course Carmen expert and friendly engagements!!

Will recommend others to visit.

today for a tasting and we've been served by Garrett. He was really prepared and he made our times really enjoyable and relaxed. I really recommend this place, hope to have the chance to come back one day!

Enjoyable tasting in a quiet setting We went mid-week and were the only patrons there. We had a fantastic tasting, all the wines tasted were excellent and the young lady running the tasting was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. We got a fantastic deal on a carton of the previous vintage Rose which was shipped back to QLD for us at no extra charge. The tasting room is nice and had a fireplace which was welcome on the cold winter's day.

Welcome to Kilikanoon. We arrived late in the day, up from Adelaide, quick taste and bought a few bottles. ‘Come back and do a proper tasting, we’ll look after you’ was the invite! We did and were very much welcomed by Dave with tasting, explanations and a few stories. Bought some more excellent wines! A really good cellar door experience all round.

Quality wine tasting experience Dave did a great job introducing us to a range of high quality Kilikanoon wines. We enjoyed the setting, the experience and importantly the wines. The quality of all of the wines we tasted convinced us to take a mixed dozen with us.

Highly recommend anyone visiting Clare Valley to go to this winery. If you want to do the premium experience, you will need to book 24-48hrs at least prior. It is $100pp BUT their wines are exceptional. Even the starting and mid-range wines are beautiful. Their wines are elegant and I can see why they are award-winning.
Of the winery experiences, this one was by far the best and we left Clare Valley on a wonderful note. Thank you so much to Carmen for taking us through the wines. It’s always a good learning experience and she made it exceptional. We also drove all the way from Sydney with our dogs and it’s fantastic to be allowed indoors. Ten stars for being dog-friendly. Clare Valley wineries are not very dog-friendly so this was a refreshing change!

We heard Kilikanoon has the best Shiraz in the world and it’s hard to argue. The service was super friendly and the complimentary Sparkling to start our tasting really put us in the mood. By the end of the tasting we knew we had to join the Covenant Club and our first order will be waiting for us back in Brisbane.

Amazing tasting, book ahead to avoid disappointment (we booked ahead and glad we did).

Amazing wine at Kilikanoon cellar door, you almost want to take a bottle of each home with you. Carmen was a lovely host that took us through our tasting, she was very informative and knowledgeable. We are very glad we stopped in at this cellar door.

Very nice experience. The manager (Carmen) and staff are very friendly. The winery is dog friendly. It is a very good location for wine lovers with dogs. There's a tasting fee, but if you buy some wine, it will be waived. I personally really like the Oracle Shiraz, Mort's Cut Riesling. Will surely revisit if I go clare Valley.

Tremendous Service and Wine Tasting Experience at Kilikanoon winery - Clare Valley SA. Carman was warm welcoming and knowledgeable, on our recent visit to the winery. She was quickly able to ascertain our tastes and provided wine tastings accordingly. We enjoyed our time talking and tasting wine with her and she had a friendly and approachable nature. We love the wines and the service provided by Kilikanoon.

Rode e bikes to get to this beautiful place. Well worth it..I still have one bottle left after going through a few. Very nice indeed. Dave was very helpful indeed..highly recommend Kilikanoon.

A great tasting experience. There was a nice warm ambience about the tasting room which added to the experience. The wine was great and we took advantage of buying a dozen to be delivered free. Dave was a very hospital host and knowledgeable host who even made our pooch feel welcome. Would happily return.

Great winery, very friendly and welcoming. Dog friendly infact so friendly our dog didn’t want to leave! Lovely set up and great wine tastings, thoroughly enjoyed them all and our purchases, highly recommend as a great stop on the Riesling Trail ????

Put this on your list when in Clare Valley We had visited a couple of wineries and this was our favourite. The gentleman who helped us on the day was very friendly and we enjoyed our time here. We came away with a couple of bottles of Champagne from their sister company and one of Riesling that I particularly liked.

We had a great visit to Kilikanoon Cellar Door last week. The beautiful gardens, characterful cottage and friendly, helpful staff added to our tasting experience. We sat inside but there was ample seating outside where you could take in the beautiful scenery! The wines were delicious and we found a few favourites to take home with us We had a great time!

Really good wines. Great winery. Food was ok. We ordered a tiny gluten free pizza and it cost $24????

Overall not worth it; so many better places with better wine and with better attitudes. Our group of 6 came to do a 30 minute tasting and arrived at 4:25pm. Frank (one of the staff) made it clear to us that he wanted to finish work at 5pm so he pushed us to do “quick visit”.

The service here is either poorly understaffed or don’t know how to handle hectic Easter service periods because Frank’s urgency to finish our tasting quickly left us unimpressed.
Another bloke that worked here (a lot kinder) said that Frank is “incredibly efficient”. I would agree; Frank was incredibly efficient in ensuring we felt his pressure to leave early and make the whole experience transactional.

We had guests from overseas with us (US/Europe) that were excited for the wine Clare Valley is famous for. Unfortunately, It’s sad when the taste left in your mouth for a great winery is poor customer service. Can’t recommend / won’t recommend.

Best wine tasting experience in The Clare Valley. David was very knowledgeable and helpful. The tranquil outdoors setting overlooking the vineyard was great. And so we the wines especially (for me) the Reisling and Shiraz. Highly recommend a visit.

Went to Kilikanoon Wines - lovely wines. Made a substantial order yet waiting for delivery. It has been over 6 weeks. Have contacted them numerous times (by phone and email) and they said they would follow up but no response. Awful customer service.

Kracker wines at Kilikanoon The Clare Valley has so many great wineries to visit so it's easy to miss the best. This winery has much to offer with a good cellar door setup with a reasonable sized tasting area. The range of wines covers whites and reds including their new limited release range. Their Mort's Block Riesling always appeals.

Have been a long time fan of Kilikanoon visiting their cellar door did not disappoint. The staff on duty were attentive, not pushy and very knowledgeable, with fantastic wines to back it up. Highly recommend!!!

Great day out, great wines, great people. Kilikanoon winery is must visit when you go to Clare. We visit every time we are in the area. Last week we throughly enjoyed Pick Tregea day. The staff were absolutely perfect hosts. And being mid vintage they did an amazing job accommodating us on our tour. We enjoyed learning about the behind the scenes of where their superb wines come from. The lunch cooked by local chef Nicola from the Watervale hotel was also amazing. I highly recommend this winery. Join the wine club you won't be disappointed

Pick Tregea Day We were bussed up to Clare and had a stop at the Attunga vineyard to see where it all starts. We then headed to the winery and got to see what happens from when the grapes arrive, to how they are processed and of course the results along the way. Afterwards, we headed to the Cellar door where we tried our hand at picking Tregea grapes. Afterwards, we earned our degustation lunch which was cooked by Chef Nicola and served by Wayne from the Watervale Hotel. The food was absolutely amazing and of course accompanied by top class Kilikanoon wines. A magnificently organised day and the weather was fabulous as well. Well done to the Kilikanoon team, Travis, Troy, Mel and Peter!

10/10 service and quality wines We visited Kilikanoon and did the revelation tasting and we were not disappointed! Brandon was serving us and we left very happy - he was extremely knowledgeable but also fun, friendly and charismatic. Pretty cellar door, we were very late in the day. The lady seemed like she’d had a long day. Didn’t really describe the wine. Didn’t seem bother to try and sell us wine. We like the kilikanoon Riesling so the experience was a bit of a shame.
